MESSAGE

Dear friends,

I would like to welcome the Community Council’s initiative to create the community’s official website.

Our goal is to present facts and testimonies lost over time due to the indifference of the past, our concern for the future and the problems of our modern society. We are all indebted to preserve this cultural heritage like it is our most valuable asset.

On these pages you will find useful information about our Community and you will have the opportunity to get to know our natural beauties, our history and church, as well as be informed on the Community’s activities.

I wish you a pleasant “browsing” in our Community.

Panagia AMARANDOU RODOU

Undoubtedly, the island of Aphrodite has been blessed by God like very few other places in the world, something which is evident by how loyal Christians the people of the island are, as well as by the fact that Panagia (Virgin Mary) is honored in several villages on the island, with one such village being Koutrafas.

THE BRIDGE OF KOUTRAFAS

In Koutrafas there are stone bridges that visitors can explore and admire.

STONE WATERMILL – MEMMETTI’S MILL

In the now abandoned village of Pano Koutrafas, in the Dere location, one will find the Memetis Watermill. It is a watermill, built with its own stones.

HEROES’ MONUMENT TO THE FALLEN 281ST

In Koutrafas there is also a monument in honor of the heroes of the region, which the visitor can explore and admire.
